Just 15 years old, the New Longview subdivision in western Lee’s Summit, has quickly become one of the most popular subdivisions in all of Lee’s Summit Missouri. Built on part of the once “World Famous RA Long Estate”, the developers wanted to create a mix of residential and commercial construction with a 1900’s contemporary charm, and close knit neighborhood feel.

To experience New Longview is like a step back in time.  This is not your traditional neighborhood!  As an example, there are alleys between the streets. This allows the garages to be built behind the home, so when you look at the home you see a beautiful house and not just a big garage. The home styles are unique to New Longview as well.  Rather than finding the typical 2-story, ranch or reverse ranch being built in neighboring subdivision, these homes are reminiscent of those found in Kansas City Missouri’s historic Brookside, Hyde Park and Waldo areas which surround the famous J C Nichols Plaza. Home styles include the classic Craftsman, the Kansas City Shirtwaist, and variations of Victorian, Colonial and Tudor styles.

Redbuck Park in the heart of New Longview features green space, playground, and a zero radius competition style community pool.  Walking and bike trails will lead you to the commercial side of New Longview where you will find restaurants, shopping, businesses and the Longview campus of the Metropolitan Community College.

One of the special things the developer did in the implementation the New Longview concept was to take the old RA Long Horse Arena and converted into a state-of-the-art elementary school now known as Longview Elementary. That school is now the crown jewel and the anchor for this subdivision. It feeds into Summit Lakes Middle School and Lee’s Summit West High School.

The Lee’s Summit R-7 School District is known as being one of the best school districts in Missouri with numerous awards including Missouri’s Distinction in Performance Award, the state’s highest recognition for academic achievement.  Money Magazine named Lee’s Summit R-7 as the seventh best in the nation in a recent “Best Places to Live” issue.

New Longview is located within close proximity too many community amenities that, while not part of New Longview, certainly are well-known as part of the overall community. This includes: The Longview Mansion, the Longview Horse Park, the Fred Arbanas Golf Course, the Frank White Jr. Softball Complex, and the ponds, campgrounds, fishing and play areas associated with the 930 acre Longview Lake.
