As you may have heard, the popular Independence Day fireworks display at Longview Lake has been cancelled for this year. Jackson County, Missouri government is re-allocating those funds toward other county projects.  Do not despair!  You still have MANY opportunities to enjoy fireworks in the metro area.  Here is a list of the ones I am aware of.  Some of these displays are in conjunction with festival activities, so there could be some fees to participate.

There will also be many personal firework displays in the area. Be safe if you are using fireworks this year or attending these events.  Every year many end up in the ER as a result of personal fireworks use.  Please do not become a statistic!!

Have an enjoyable holiday weekend everyone!!
