Each month the Sandi Reed Real Estate Group will provide you with a list to keep you on track with those essential home repairs.  We want to remind you that maintaining your home does not have to be overwhelming, but it does require some consistent attention.

Most of April’s task involve getting your home ready for Summer.  Some of these projects will only take a few minutes but can make a huge difference as we enter the dog days of summer.

#1     Have Air Conditioner and Furnace Serviced

Twice a year you should have a technician service your heating and air conditioning. Preventative maintenance will keep your units running efficiently, saving energy and saving on energy costs.

#2     Exterior House Evaluation

Walk around the house and look for possible problems that need to be addressed. Check the roof, gutters, foundation and the house itself for painting or caulking issues.

#3     Get Your Garden & Landscape Ready

Clean out old debris and add soil additives or fertilizer if necessary. If the weather is warm enough, you might start planting seeds and some heartier plantings.

#4     Have In-Ground Sprinkler System Serviced

If you have a sprinkler system, now’s the time to have it checked for possible issues.

#5     Start Your 5-Step Lawn Care Program

Crabgrass preventer + fertilizer should go down mid-March through mid-April. If you are seeding the yard, check with your local nursery for proper applications.

We hope these tips help keep you on track.  If you have any other questions regarding real estate in Lee’s Summit or anywhere in the greater Kansas City area, give me a call at 816-877-8732, or visit me at www.SandiReed.com. I am licensed in both Missouri and Kansas.
